Throwing weird parties in the streets and the parks is what we do for fun. We want to do more of it and we want to make it new, better and weirder.
But we need your help, so we created the golden hour–the time when shadows grow tall
Every two years we create an opportunity to grow our ranks. This winter We are narrowing our golden hour window to request support from our community to play specific roles in our upcoming calendar of events.
We have reviewed all applications and will reopen this opportunity in late 2026. All roles are and always have been on a volunteer basis.
If we accept your application, we might not call on your expertise until the right opportunity rolls around.
At that time the work load might be as little as 2 hours in the weeks leading up to the event. During the week of the event, that might scale up to 5-20 hours.
location scout
You know NYC pretty damn well. The new and old venues, the cool hidden corners, the lush waterfront parks and the barren industrial avenues. You love to saddle up and scope out what parking is like on a Saturday night or how much space their might be for a dance party at low tide. You certainly don't mind cold-calling a music venue to see if they can offer a drink discount or open their doors to a brass band.
fabrication & sourcing
You love creating and transforming props, scenery, costumes, dreams and schemes. You're eager to find the perfect wigs on Amazon and you embrace a glue gun with glee. You have a deep respect for the hallowed halls of MFTA and you can make $50 stretch a long way at any hardware store. And hey, if the budget is more like $500 you can absolutely find the best bang for those bucks
external communications
Tap tap tap; you made a post, tagged the performers in a story, updated the linktree and scheduled a Mailchimp draft. you are a copy/pastemaster and you don't care what platform the thread is on--signal, discord, whatsapp or facebook--the information you have to share will reach its targeted audience. You dont mind a late-night update because shit happens and if the venue changes the people have to know.

You came, you coordinated, you cozied, maybe you've even taken on the harrowing role of Judge. You love the event and you know how simple it can be to pull off. Maybe you have ideas on how CWP can level up with an overall theme, an all-hands game or an enveloping narrative. Maybe you have a special sauce recipe for the perfect judge squad. AND maybe all you really want is those sweeeeeet sweeeeeeet bribes.

It's the tentpole, the motherlode, the all-one--Be a chooser of the time and place with us.
The history is deep, the format is perfect and it ain't broke, so don't try to fix it. Producing this event is quite a balancing act. You'll need to reach out to our epic list of past proprietors, while being fully inclusive and getting fresh blood in the mix.
You'll need to make sure that the location is ideal, and work through a number of protocols to ensure that you can keep it secret and keep it safe. All the while you must invite folks far and wide, encourage franchises nationwide and release information through a vise-like grip a mere 24-48 hours in advance. And revel in the glory. Oh the revel. Oh the glory.
